To the interested:

The November issue of UNIX REVIEW (vol.10,no.11)
contains an article on the USL-BSDI suit,
as well as Carl Dichter's article in favor of software patents
mentioned earlier (by he author himself) on some of these forums.

Also, I just received a report from
US Congress's Office of Technology Assessment (OTA):
	"Finding A Balance: Computer Software, Intellectual Property
	 and the Challenge of  Technological Change."
This 200+ page paper provides excellent background on the issues
relevant to these forums.
