QUME HF-24-LPS Data Technology HyperFlex Subsystem?

The above optical drive is a 20-24 MB 5.25" SCSI device with a QUME ROM.
The disks are Verbatim Datalife 24 MB "Servowritten and Verified" 78
Sectors per track 666 TPI.

I can get COREL SCSi software to identify the drive, *and* even low level
format, but it returns an ASPI error when trying the high level format and
says "Invalid media type reading drive x" when I try accessing the drive
in DOS.

Does anyone know anything about these drives, or the company that made them?
