For what it's worth - Bob Pease (analog-electronics wizard at National
Semiconductor) writes of using a dishwasher to clean residue off of
high-impedance, leakage-sensitive circuit boards. The dishwasher
left less residue on the boards than normal cleaning/flux-removal
solvents did. His recipe was "standard cycle, with a normal load of
Calgonite".

As to corrosion, I think this wouldn't be a problem as long as the rinse
cycle works properly... the cleaning alkalis in the detergent won't be
in contact with the circuit board for more than a few minutes and will
then go down the drain. If you're concerned about this, run the washer
once with detergent, a second time without detergent, and then take the
keyboard out at the end of the last normal rinse cycle, dunk it in a vat
of distilled water, shake out the excess, and let it air-dry.
