I have a faulty optical mouse (a Mouse Systems model M4) that doesn't travel left or right anymore. I know that all that is wrong with it is that the visible red LED is no longer intense enough to drive the optical receiver - I have checked this by replacing the LED with one from a good mouse. So what I would like to know is the particular type of LED used. Does anyone know the specifications for the LEDs in a optical mouse - I also like to know the specs for the infra-red LED as well.
