Has anybody any (non obvious) suggestions as to what the cause might be of a NO DIALTONE message when: 1. The modem is clearly communicating with the PC 2. The modem has been working reliably on the line 3. The modem and line cable has recently been swapped out. 4. Supplier initially found no problem with returned modem 5. New modem is not the returned modem 6. Modem is 56K External Sonic Pro 7. Machine is a P233MMX 8. Hardware soak test with PRIME indicates no hardware problems -- David Longley Longley Consulting London, UK Behaviour Assessment & Profiling Technology, Research, Data Analysis and Training Services, Small IT Systems http://www.longley.demon.co.uk
