Does anyone have a list of which DDS drives can read/write each others tapes. I assume that a DDS-1 would not read a DDS-2 format tape, but I've also read that different manufacturers drives may or may not be compatible. We have 2 x HP9000, 1 x SUN and a SCO system with DDS here and we have customers with DDS on IBM RS6000, DG and Sequent. I don't know the model numbers of the drives and don't particularly want to take the machines apart to find out (is there a way of getting this info via software?).

Should show under control panel/system/device manager/properties. ======================================== /bob/ thompson@robin.tezcat.com (Bob Thompson) =========================================
