Scanners for NT

Summary
=======

I would like to attach a scanner to my desktop NT system.

*But*, HP says that NT is not supported for any of their scanners.

Has anyone had luck installing an HP, or other, scanner on NT?

Detail
======

I have a 200 MHz Pentium Pro Intel Aurora (Bors) running NT 3.51 under my desk.
I also have a Pentium 150 (Percival) running Win 3.1 under my desk.

I have a LaserJet 4P attached to my Pentium Pro system.

I would like to connect a flat scanner (not a sheet-feed - although
I'll take a sheet-feed if nothing else is around (I want a flat
scanner so that I can scan the odd page out of a book, and/or have an
auto-feeder)) to the same computer as my printer, so that I can take
advantage of the "photo-copier" features of so much scanner software.

Unfortunately, HP Tech Support informs me that no HP scanners are
supported on NT. For that matter, no HP printers are supported on NT
either.

I am wondering where to get NT drivers, etc., for my scanner of choice - an HP ScanJet 4c - or other scanners.

I am also wondering if the standard OCR, photocopier, etc. software will
run on NT.

Any help appreciated. Please send email - I am not regularly in these groups.

<Stuff Snipped>

HP doesn't support NT but they do work, and there
are drivers for NT. You can also look to Umax and
others for NT capable scanners.

There are a lot that work.

I would strongly recommend you a look at an AGFA scanner (like Studioscan
II si) wich all has official support of Mac, Win3, Win95 *and* NT.

I can't speak for HP Scanners on Windows NT, but I have printed to HP Printers
from NT -- even over the network.
