I recently purchased a Sony SMO-S501-11 Magneto Optical Drive at a computer surplus sale and have been successful in getting my Adaptec AHA-1542-CF controller to recognize it on bootup. However, before I try to get the drive operational by configuring ASPIDISK.SYS, I would like to have a storage cartridge in place. Therefore, I need info on the removable media cartridges for this MOD: such as type; capacity; source, etc. Please cc via E-mail any and all responses. Thanks, -- John Johnson TXJohn47@ix.netcom.com The opinions expressed above represent those of the writer (me) and not necessarily those of his employer (also me). <G> ;-)

Check out Corporate Systems Center www.corpsys.com. They are having a half off sale on all mo cartridges. If it's not mentioned on their web site, give them a call. The sale is mentioned in their current catalog. I just picked up some 650 meg 1024 byte/sector Verbatim cartridges for $22.50 each. I also have one of those old Sony drives with an adaptec scsi card and am able to use the 1024 byte/sector cartridges. Win 95 reports 318 meg per side. The 512 byte/sector cartridges formatted out to 295 meg per side. txjohn47@ix.netcom.com(JOHN JOHNSON ) wrote: > I recently purchased a Sony SMO-S501-11 Magneto Optical Drive at a >computer surplus sale and have been successful in getting my Adaptec >AHA-1542-CF controller to recognize it on bootup. > However, before I try to get the drive operational by configuring >ASPIDISK.SYS, I would like to have a storage cartridge in place. > Therefore, I need info on the removable media cartridges for this >MOD: such as type; capacity; source, etc. > Please cc via E-mail any and all responses. >Thanks, >-- >John Johnson >TXJohn47@ix.netcom.com >The opinions expressed above represent those of the writer (me) >and not necessarily those of his employer (also me). <G> ;-)
