I'm afraid, I'm in the same boat. I need to find the docs and software and SCSI card for DEST PC Scan Plus model 651. I tried the www.btc.com and my browser wouldn't find it. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks Jerry. jdale@norfolk.infi.net David Longley <David@longley.demon.co.uk> writes: > In article <4jd8ff$r3o@what.why.net> s.stephens@1eee.org "Steve Stephens" writes: > > > I have two DEST scanners for which I need to find docs & software. > > One is a 651 & the other is a 645st. I'd give up on this - I was in regular contact with the chap from btc who
supported DEST scanners (I have the 650 and 651 and 3000). He has now left
BTC and I don't think they were going to replacce him. They may have closed
the web site as a consequence. What I can tell you is that you is:
1) the interface is not SCSI (it's like SCSI not not, so don't try it)
2) the interface for the PC SCAN and SCAN PLUS requires drivers for that
card, the 1000 and above use another.
3) You will have reliability problems running under anything higher than
DOS 5 and below. Windows Standard (Windows 3.0) is your limit too.
I am selling both my 650 and 651 and telling any buyer that they are really
only for DOS 5 and below..
