We haven't tried IPremoteAT with SLIP, but have had good results with IPremoteAT and
MacPPP (available from merit.edu). Typical systems are either

PowerBook 170, System 7.1, MacTCP 1.1.1, Network Install Kit 3.0
or
	PowerBook 170, System 7.0.1 + System 7 Tuner + PowerBook Tuner, MacTCP 1.1

At DTE speed 19.2 and modulation speed 14.4 (V.32bis, V.42, V.42bis) performance is
respectable. My experience with MacPPP indicates it is more robust and easier to
configure than the SLIP implementation I used.
