Hi, I'm trying to change my LaserWriter IIg so it no longer thinks it's a LaserWriter and instead is a 'LazerWriter' in order to limit access to the printer. The postscript code I use only works when the printer is connected via LocalTalk. When it is connected via EtherTalk, it takes the code with no errors, but it has no effect. The same code works fine for our HP EtherTalk printer and for a LW IINTX. The IIg manual doesn't have any information on this behavior - has anyone else run into this and know of a work-around? I know there is a ROM upgrade one can get to fix various other bugs with the IIf and IIg, but as far as I know this isn't one of the bugs. I am pursuing this line with Apple.... All opinions are my own.... --------- Edgar Nielsen Math Sciences Computing Center (206) 543-6466 University of Washington,Seattle 98195
