Macs behind a Gatorbox/Fastpath

We are planning to set up a mac lab and would like to connect this lab
to the campus network. One option is to put ethernet cards in each mac.
the other option ( the less expensive maybe ) is to put them on an
localtalk network with a gatorbox/fastpath. We have some experience
with gatorbox/fastpath in an office environment, where people are not
all trying to use the box at the same time.

Now the question.
How many macs can use NCSA telnet through a gatorbox/fastpath at the same time
before the response becomes unacceptable. By the way, one of
the functions of this lab will to be, using tn3270, intro to
using the IBM mainframe.

Thanks for any help,
Donald Pace
