This is a simple question about available Appletalk monitoring programs. From
what I know about Appletalk, it should be no big deal for a Mac with file
sharing on to determine
- Which computers, from which zones, are accessing it
- Which items on the shared disk/folder/whatever are in use
In other words, info above and beyond the Guest/Owner/Registered User name
list in the File Sharing Monitor. Has someone already written up an application
to make this info available on some sort of dynamic display, or failing that,
in a log file? Surely I'm not the first person to be curious about this sort
of thing...
Thanks,
JB

The program you want is called Nok Nok by Trk, Inc. They make two versions, one for Sys 7 file sharing, and one for AppleShare file servers. As well, Nok Nok will identify where guests are logging in from, and keeps a log file. Any others out there? Hope this is helpful, Cory L. Scott cls6@midway.uchicago.edu

You are talking about Nok Nok from Trik. Very cool product.
