Do any of the appleshare fileservice via NFS compete in speed with
native appleshare service over ethertalk? Our only experience is with
MAC->(ethertalk)->gatorbox->(nfs)->Sun
which the Mac intensive people say is much slower that fileservice from
a native appleshare server. Our gatorbox is rather old so this may not
be a state of the art comparision.
We don't have any experience at all with nfs running on the Mac
itself.

I have seen a report of 23.5KB/sec for Wollongong's NFS Client v1.2 between a Mac ci to HP9000/425. I have personally measured 89KB/sec with Intercon's NFS/Share between a Quadra 700 and a SPARCstation 1. Both cases same Ethernet.
