Hi! I was wondering if anyone has tried to backup a PC or Mac to an IBM
mainframe via TCP/IP? If so, how?

I have tried backing up my PC to the IBM mainframe with NFS. The IBM
mainframe involved has Interlink's SNS/TCPaccess TCP/IP software and
Interlink's SNS/NFS. First, I created an NFS connection from my PC to
the IBM mainframe and tried to XCOPY my PC's hard disk to the designated
NFS drive (allocated as the mainframe) i.e. XCOPY c: g: /s /e. It would
only copy my current directory and nothing more.

Then I tried to FTP my PC's whole hard disk. Is there way to FTP the whole
hard disk of a PC to the mainframe? I could only again find a way to FTP one
directory at a time. I am using FTP's PC/TCP software.

I would really appreciate anyone's ideas or if anyone is doing this, how.

Please send all responsess to modic@gumby.dsd.trw.com

Thanks, Jeanine
