We are planning to use the Unix lpr/lpd support that is included in the latest IBM MVS TCP/IP upgrade that is being installed here at NASA Lewis. We would like to be able to route print requests from Unix workstations or Unix based print server systems to an MVS system with this software, in order to allow the Unix users to access the MVS attached printers, such as IBM 3800's, 3820's or 3812's. At a later date, we would also like to use the MVS "lpr" command to route print requests to large printers or plotters attached to various Unix print server systems. Has anyone used this software in either of these modes, and if so: a) what do you think of its capabilities ? b) Does its work OK ? c) Any significant problems installing it or using it ?
