    Help!

    I'm trying to create a program to send packets over the serial
port (COM1) of a 386SX that also has a token-ring card and the IBM
network support programs for NetBIOS installed.  I install my own
interrupt routine and initialize the serial port for 9600 bps.  I can
use the NetBIOS interface without problem until I start processing
packets over the serial link.  Then either the serial link hangs or
the NetBIOS interface hangs.

    I've tried issuing a NetBIOS "RESET ADAPTER" command and adding
the adapter's name.  The reset completes successfully but the
"ADD_NAME" fails with an "adapter error" code (0xF6).

    My setup for the IBM drivers is:

     device = dxma0mod.sys
     device = dxmc0mod.sys ,C800
     device = dxmt0mod.sys E CR=Y S=32 C=99 N=35 RC=10 RV=Y

    Note the "E" parameter for DXMT0MOD.SYS.  According to the
DXMINFO.DOC file supplied by IBM, the "E", or "ENABLE" parameter
"should be used when the computer contains a high-speed asynchronous
adapter used simultaneously with a LAN adapter."  The document
doesn't say why this is needed or what problem it solves.

    I've reached a dead end.  Any ideas on possible causes and
possible solutions would help.  I'll take anything, no matter how
simple or how far fetched it seems.  Please e-mail replys or requests
for more details.  I'll summarize if there is enough interest.
