We are in the process of investigating products which convert between
TCP/IP and LU6.2 (and optionally DECnet) protocols for APPC. We will be
using an IBM RS/6000 machine. Our company currently has no IBM machines
(AS/400, S/36, S/38, 3090) nor do we (me) have any desire to own and
operate one. The current three solutions we are analyzing are:

Vendor: Forest Computer
Product:	Connection System

They sell a RiscStation with their own software preloaded which
accepts TCP/IP, DECnet, and SNA connections and transparently
converts between any and all of them.

Features: Too good to be true. Requires no knowledge of
LU6.2 or the nightmare of profiles to establish a
connection. A simple open of a socket and
read() and write() calls are all that is necessary.
Also has TELNET, FTP, SET HOST, etc.

	Price: Expensive

Vendor: Harris Adacom
Product: SuperNet Super Channel

They sell LU6.2 software which runs on your own RS/6000.
You must learn LU6.2 verb set programming, etc.

	Price: Moderate

Vendor: System Strategies
Product: Express+

They sell LU6.2 software which runs on your own RS/6000.
You must learn LU6.2 verb set programming, etc.

	Price: Inexpensive

If anyone has used any of these products or has other suggestions, we would
appreciate any information.
