Kermit file transfers thru 3174 AEA

Has anyone successfully done file transfers between MSDOS and VM
using Kermit and going thru an IBM 3174 controller with the AEA
feature? If so, could you tell me the appropriate settings for
the CMS-KERMIT and the MSDOS-Kermit?

The problem is more than just 'setting'.

We have used Kermit through a Series/1-Yale ASCII interface and a 3708 to
MVS. The two versions of MVS/Kermit that were used were written specifically
for these two protocol converters (and the 3708 version requires a special
3708 config). We have never located a version of Kermit that would work with
the 3174/AEA.

You ever considered FTP?

Or get a McDATA Corporation LM7100 to replace the 3174?

What microcode level is in the 3174? You must have the B series
microcode to get transparent mode support; A or S series ucode
won't support Kermit file transfers.

You should also get the latest CMS Kermit from
watsun.cc.columbia.edu. The 3708 situation is much improved, and
that version is known to work with 3174/AEA with rev B ucode.
