async initiator problem

I'm having trouble converting a synchronous initiator (using ROSE)
to asynchronous. After requesting an operation, I call RyWait()
to wait for a response. RyWait() returns NOTOK, and the error code
in the RoSAPpreject structure indicates "Timer Expired" (which it
has not). However, the result of the remote operation still successfully
returned to my initiator.

I'd appreciate any suggestions on what might be happening or examples
of asynchronous initiator code.
