I have always heard the ISO standards guys described, disparagingly, as "telephone bureaucrats". The idea they can make $ out of standards documents, and the decision to distribute on paper, certain makes them archaic minds. They also don't seem to understand, or at least to be concerned with, the process by which standards get translated into products. Of course, it is difficult to think of international standards which were developed in advance of the actual products which have resulted in products. Hard to know whether this is due to the futility of such a standards effort or to the bureaucracy by which it is accomplished. I don't mean to cause flames. 8^) Lew -- Lew Glendenning rlglende@netcom.com 408-245-7488 "Perspective is worth 80 IQ points." Nils Bohr (or somebody like that).
