PLC stands for Programmable Logic Controller which is a manufacturing term for computer controlled machine. This is sorta like a robot but not exactly the same. Anyway, from what I know PLCs talk to computers over dedicated async serial lines and download code with a simple send block/ack type of protocol. At least that is how they worked a few years ago. -- Jim Sanchez Hughes LAN Systems - Bellevue, WA (206)828-7417 Internet: jim@hls.com OR jsanchez@polari.online.com UUCP: ..!uunet!polari!jsanchez
