Hi,
We are looking for suggestions for protocols to be used over a medium speed
serial communications channel (probably 1.5Mb/sec). We have a requirement to
implement a unidirectional 'socket-like' interface between communicating
processes. We would like to be able to route the data to unix hosts on a
standard LAN (FDDI or Ethernet). We would build the 'router' hardware, but the
protocol would have to include IP-like addressing capability.
Our set-up is a little unusual:
o The return path from the unix systems is much slower than the data comming up.
o Most data will destined for the unix systems.
o The unix systems can 'broadcast' to the remote systems.
o There will be little peer-to-peer communication between the remote nodes.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Derek Mathieson...
