I received responses from the following people: jlaiho@ichaos.nullnet.fi (Juha Laiho) ian@airs.com (Ian Lance Taylor) irscscm!bogart!phzzzt!mfaurot@next32.isnet.com (Michael Faurot) chip@chinacat.unicom.com (Chip Rosenthal) They all recommended I look into the Taylor uucp implementation which should be portable to a XENIX/386 platform and which does support the 'f' protocol. My thanks to all of these folks for their assistance. --Dick Flanagan
