Hi, I plan to write a client/server application which is supposed to be portable across various platforms. I know that there are socket libraries for many operating systems (OS/2, DOS, Unix etc.). Now for my question: Is there a socket library for VAX/VMS as well ? Does the POSIX standard include the socket lib ? Thanks for any information in advance either here or by e-mail to: Tom Leitner, tom@piassun1.joanneum.ac.at Regards from Austria -- TOM

VMS has a socket() implementation. It comes with the C Run-time library. Digitals TCP/IP product is called UCX and must be purchased seperately. (I am not sure which version of VMS is required though...) -bob
