I am running the versin of SLIP that comes with Ultrix on a DECStation and a VaxStation. The VAXStation is a remote site that is about 30 miles away and it is running as the master. The DECStation is the slave and is here at our lab. I am looking for a shell script or c program that would detect when a hangup occured on either end and could attempt to restart the whole process. I would rather not write this if it already existed. I can't use PPP because I can't find one that runs on a VAXStation that runs Ultrix.
