hmmm, ok -- do you mean somehow preconfiguring with static routes
(route add hawkmoon medusa 1) on the sun side or the esix side or
both?  Are the routed and gated that you are talking about the sun
versions?  If you are talking about adding static routes for the sun
side, i presume that i should be able to add the appropriate route add ...
commands in the /etc/rc.boot file, or perhaps in the rc.local file,
before the routed daemon is called?

thanks for the help you have given so far, i will try adding some
static routes to one of my rc files..
