Connecting to RLN server using browser PPP dialer

I am running an Attachmate RLN 4.2.1 server mostly used to attach Banyan
dial-ins to our Vines network.	I am also able to connect to this server
using Windows NT RAS PPP. What I have been unable to do is connect to
the server using Windows and a dial-up TCP/IP package.	I have tried the
dialer that comes with Internet Explorer 3.,0, the one that comes with
Netscape 3, (both of which appear to use Shiva PPP) and the one that
comes with the Banyan Ipswitch stack. None of them is actually able to
connect a full connection, although the Shiva PPP stack used by Netscape
and IE does manage to get my username into the server log.

I have enabled the server to accept PAP or CHAP connections.

The message from the Shiva dialer is "Unable to negotiate protocol".
The Ipswitch dialer just gives me a disconnect message.

Has anyone had better success with this, or have an idea where I
might be going wrong?

Thanks,
