I am posting this as a GENERAL request for help to save (everyone) time and
space. If anyone can help and/or needs more detail I will be more than grateful
to supply it. Post response or Email me at casey@adra.com I am hoping someone
has allready figured at least some of this out. If not, I will chip away at it
untill I do and Post my results.

FAQ and examples that came with PPP have got this far but am not sure what
 is set up wrong:

o I have NOT used SLIP. (someone else is using it O.K. but we want PPP)
o Some PCs are using PPP O.K.
o I can tip to 'workblazer' and login, then telnet, etc...
o I can "ppp-on" but I get disconnected with the following entrys in
    /var/spool/mqueue/syserr: (last few lines)
        ... chat: ...
        ... chat: ...
        ... chat: send (passwd)
        ... pppd: connected...
        ... pppd: using interface ppp0
        ...     pppd: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ttyd1
... pppd: write: Bad file number
... pppd: fcntl(F_SETFL, fdflags): Bad file number
... pppd: ioctl(TIOCSETD): Bad file number
... pppd: tcsetattr: Bad file number
        ... pppd: Exit.

I am not sure what "Bad file number" is, which file could be bad?

GENERAL QUESTIONS:

1) I have some confusion on what files PPP use vs. SLIP hence some of the
    following questions may sound dull.

2) DECStation setup/configuration? (at home)
o Use scamp and/or uucpsetup or by hand?
o If uucpsetup is used (I did) any "after the fact" changes needed?
networks: ln0 lo0 ppp0 (netsetup: subnets? routed? etc...)
devices: ttyd1 (use scamp and/or uucpsetup or by hand)
        ttys: ttyd1 (std.19200 or 8bit.19200 etc...)
rc.local: ifconfig? routed? route add default...?
        acucap: entry needed for PPP?
        gettytab: entry needed for PPP?
        remote: entry needed for PPP?
        /var/uucp/* files
        etc...

3) Trailblazer Plus setup/configuration (at home)
o Enhanced Mode or SDLC Mode (T2000 Only???) ?
o If I can "tip" to Login account 'A' are the settings O.K. for
"PPP" to Login the 'PPP' account?
o Anyone have a set of "optimal" register setting?
(or at least would work for my situation)

If the answers to the questions above can be found some place I have not
yet looked, please point me in that direction, and sorry for making you
read all this.

                Thank you in advance,
                                Shawn...
