The other network is 24 PC/Wfw, 3 HP Lasers, served from a Compaq Prosigna. First challenge: Using Wfw marrys the user to the machine. Password were stored local on the PC. We had to create a setup where each user could logon to any machine or multiple users could logon to a single machine. What we did was to bypass the Wfw logon screen and write our own logon program that then issued "net use" commands. That worked well for us. The biggest problem still facing us, is when Microsoft Word 6 and Excel 5 came upon the scene. Before those versions eveything was great. With the new versions of Word & Excel saving LARGE files on a Samba drive will either corrupt the file (WORD) or not be able to retrieve the file (Excel). These problems do not happen with other servers (DG/UX or Linux). I have seen other posts the same problems with SCO. I have also received much mail from other users with the same expericences. If anyone knows the fix PLEASE share. Robert Shingledecker roberts@deltanet.com
