I wonder if there is anyone out there who has developed own
SNMP-agents for SW/OS management and integrated them with
any commercial manager as the Sun Net Manager or HP-s OpenView
Node Manager. For instance for checking behaviour of daemons,
database servers or something like that.

In such case, is there any preferrable package for developing/integrating
these SNMP-agents? Anyone used the HP OV extensible SNMP agent?

Is there any other manager that I should look at to solve such
a problem on a Sun system besides those tho already mentioned 
and Spectrum?

I've read somewhere that there is a package that provides the possibility 
to program SNMP agents in Perl, what its name and has anyone used it?

Has anyone run HP's OV Node Manager on Sun?

Please answer by mail, I will summarize if I get enough answers to
form a summary.
