The subject says it all.

1/
Is there a MIB for a Novell server ?

2/
While I am here, I would also like to know if network management systems
like HP-OPENVIEW , Novell NMS , Sun net manager ... export some MIB to allow
'external applications' ( by external I mean application that are not written
specifically for those network management platforms ) to query network
information from their database ?

Thank for your answers.

Yes. Base NetWare 3.11 supports MIB I on IP. There is an update to SNMP
available from Novell in a variety of products, or to any customer who
pesters their reseller for it :-) that supports MIB-II.
In addition, there is a portion of the NetWare Management System called
NetExplorer Plus that is freely duplicatable to all servers within an
enterprise that implements another MIB that contains some discovery
information to aid in mapping the database. This MIB is included within
the NMS product.

In general, I don't think management systems have this type of MIB.
Novell's NMS, for instance, doesn't allow SNMP queries to the database. What
it does have is an open database schema allowing applications to do btrieve
queries to the database. The app could then export the data via SNMP if
it chose to do so.

Ooops, I forgot one thing. The base MIB-I is IP only (I think) but all
of the other MIBs and the base SNMP agent 2.0 support both IP and IPX
transparently across all MIBs.
