Folks, All patches received as of 0500Z 8 January have been incorporated in the distribution xntp3.tar.Z on louie.udel.edu. The patches have mostly to do with portability things; however, there are a few that affect the 1-pps feature with Sun SPARCstations. With a good, jitterless source such as a GPS receiver (this leaves WWVB and WWV receivers in the dust), the residual jitter is down in the 10-microsecond range. I also had to add another digit of precision to the ntpq billboards, since our DECstation 5000s were showing mostly zeros in the delay field. Modern workstations on FDDI rings bring a new dimension to timekeeping. Dave
