I am in the process of being laid off and would like to find another
engineering position. The following is a condensed version of my resume.
Please call or write if you need a creative, hands-on R&D
mechanical engineer. Do not send computer mail or post on the bulletin boards
as my access to the Internet is very limited and I might not get it.
Thank you very much.

Job Objective:
A research and development position with an emphasis on mechanical or
electro-mechanical design and dynamics.
Summary of Experience:
Over eight years of mechanical engineering experience developing dynamic
mechanical systems.
Extensive design experience from concept through fabrication.
Expertise in analysis, experimentation, data acquisition, and simulation.
Demonstrated competence in communication skills and team efforts.
Work Experience:
1988 - 1993
Research Engineer
Sverdrup Technology, NASA Lewis Research Center Group, Cleveland, OH
Sverdrup provides on-site engineering support to NASA
Designed and tested high performance space mechanisms and robotic components.
Demonstrated significant reduction of reaction forces through the use of
compensating mechanisms.
Designed a unique dynamic test rig for evaluating innovative high temperature
engineseals. Verified theoretical leakage predictions and determined wear
durability. Improved seal design to meet performance criteria.
Developed programs to determine the dynamics and optimal control of robots.
Used finite element analysis to determine the dynamic effects of robots on a
Space Station. Showed that robots could improve some tasks which required
smooth motions.
1986 - 1988
Graduate Research Assistant
Mechanical Engineering Department, Carnegie Mellon University
Designed an accelerated wear tester for the hard disks in a computer disk
drive, and conducted experiments with the device. Enabled computer company to
speed up the disk evaluation process.
1986
Staff Design Engineer
Mechanical Engineering Department, Carnegie Mellon University
Designed and built a high performance two link robot for use in control system
research.
