I have recently gotten RoadRunner (got sick of slow downloads, can't get
DSL, not moving anytime soon) service from my local TV cable company. I want
to set up a Linux firewall. I have a firewall that comes with its own
version of Linux in mind. The version is called Storm Firewall. My setup is
I have an extra laptop with two PCMCIA card slots with two LinkSys PCMCIA
cards. Currently I know that it is capable of running Linux because it is
running Mandrake. I was wondering if someone can either

A:
Walk me through the entire process of making sure Linux sees both cards,
getting the cable modem to talk to my Windows ME PC through Linux and then
setup the firewall. I need to be able to have some customization as I find
myself on EverQuest and other client/server type games. I also need the
freedom to play Unreal Tournament with computers outside my own network once
in a while.

OR

B:
Point me somewhere that can tell what I am looking for. I have been to
several sites that talk about setting up firewalls but they don't seem to
have exact procedures for the entire process.

I am computer literate as I am a tech writer. The problem with most of the
stuff out there is that it wasn't written by someone who makes the
assumption that the person looking for the information doesn't know anything
about it. This is the case for me. I know very little about Linux and
nothing about command line stuff. I know even less about firewalls and all
the buzzwords associated with firewalls (ipchains, proxies, etc..). All I
know is that I want to leave my system connected, I want to leave it
protected, and I want to be about to connect to EverQuest and Battle.net
(Diablo 2).

Thank you,

Mike
