I doubt that the average user will even hear of this, much less take
action.

It would be matter if it finally motivated Microsoft to get serious
about security in Windows, but frankly I don't see much chance of that
either.

I think it's long past time to put the blame where it really belongs.

p.s.  I'm not letting other, equally irresponsible OS suppliers off the
hook -- it's just that they don't have enough market presence to matter.
