Dumb question # 2,976,876,888....The entire content of this reference http://www.zonelabs.com/zonealarm/za_faq_details.htm#5 is: "5. What is "IAMDB.RDB" ? The IAMDB.RDB file contains all the Internet access restrictions for your computer. This includes: rules, their settings, and objects that the rules apply to: programs, users, computers, subnets, zones, etc. For example, ZoneAlarm installations will have a rule like this: RULE: Locks the Internet, - applies to all programs - applies to Everyone, on all computers, anytime - turn on the lock when the screen saver is activated - do not block "Pass lock" programs The TrueVector engine is capable of enforcing many rules, but ZoneAlarm hides these implementation details in order to make it easier to use. The TrueVector service maintains these settings and uses them to enforce the rules they specify. IAMDB.RDB is opened by the TrueVector service at startup, so it cannot be deleted while the TrueVector service is running. IAMDB.RDB is encoded in binary format, but it is not currently encrypted. " Anyone explain that in English? And how it is relevant to this thread? And why does this "satisfy" you Alan? See: http://www.zonelabs.com/zonealarm/za_faq_details.htm#5 That is enough to satisfy me that they are not secretly gathering information. Cheers, Alan Jack Alexander wrote: > Read it again!
