hi all 

environment: sun sparc solris 8 
this days i tried to upgrade from checkpoint fw-1 
with hotfix 1 and 2 to featurepack 1 
but tha action failed.
the following packages ware installed befor:
> application CPfw1-50       Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 NG
> application CPshrd-50      Check Point SVN Foundation
i did download from selecting:
  VPN-1/FireWall-1 Next Generation (Solaris 2.8 Any FP1 - NG/HF1/HF2 Upgrade) : 

all pdf's and:

svn foundation
policy server 
vpn-1/fw-1 

and install in the same order. 

after that i couldn't install any policies. 
i didn't notice the exact error-msg, as it was late in evening.
compiling did work, but installing not.
after a while testing i did boot from the backup-disk.

i assume installing the "policy server patch" was the problem. 
do i need this ? 
what about the others like 4.0 or 4.1 backward compatibilities. 

can somebody tell me, which patches i have to install ?
