Is there a timer?  Is it moving?  Has the button appeared yet?  Does the
button work?  Did the timer just surreptitiously subtract 10 minutes? :-)

The main problem, as has been noted, is what to do about people who are
remotely logged in.  I tend to follow the MIT/Athena interpretation that
since the workstation is physically under the power of the person at its
console, it should be logically under their power as well.  (Athena
workstations don't allow remote logins, and the root password is freely
distributed.  If you want to renice your window manager, feel free.)
