Posting of the >OLD password. Gosh, he's serious. Suppose this is still my password on another system? Suppose this is still the password of another account of mine on the same system (even easier to research via "finger")? Suppose my last five passwords were "zxq1qq#$%?", "zxq2qq#$%?", "zxq3qq#$%?", "zxq4qq#$%?", and "zxq5qq#$%?"? Or even suppose they were "applepear", "orangeplum", and "peachapricot"? In the first case you can predict the next password; in the second case your search space is drastically reduced. Suppose my buddy's name is "fred" and my password is "zxfredcvb"? Perhaps his is "zxalancvb"!
