There are a number of systems which encrypt the hard disk and only let you in with the right password. The one I have on my shelf is called Protec, from International Data Security Inc. It gives you all the features of mainframe access control - different users restricted to different directories, audit trials, the whole treeful of pretty parrots. I once evaluated it for a client; it seems to work OK (and was apparently first developed for the USAF). Now I use a Sun it's no good to me. What am I bid for the thing? Ross
