I remember around this time last year, playing the game "Might and Magic III" and finding typos all over the place (one of which made you end up with an answer to a number puzzle that was something like a factor of 12 higher than intended) and another that made it impossible to win the game, until you called the company and they gave you the information... I'm using the example of a game because, well, it IS the one I'm most familiar with, and one can easily see that the game was not playtested to the end... it's the glaring examples that seem to make it all seem like a much worse problem than it is... Oh, and by the way, there are bugs in OS/2, Windows (and maybe even in DOS) that people complain about... but ya gotta realize... this is no game, and it's no spreadsheet... it's an OPERATING SYSTEM... we're talking a whole new level of programming. And to note another point of yours... 'they want it delivered yesterday'... Well, yeah... I do want it delivered yesterday, considering that they publically announced its release months ago. ;)
