Sorry if I sound clueless, please enlighten me. The crypt() function, which is used for password encryption, is functionally the same on all unices I know. I don't know the program 'Killer Cracker', but I think it's just another variant of crack. This means, the program cracks the passwords just by trying (tries username etc, a long word list, and modifications (backwards, double) thereof) and not, that it can reverse the encryption. So, if you choose good passwords, this programs can't crack it. -- Walter Misar It is impossible to enjoy idling thoroughly misar@rbg.informatik.th-darmstadt.de unless one has plenty of work to do.
