What do you want to SEE actually?? A virus is a program as any other.
Most of the existing viruses do not do anything noticeable. Indeed,
some viruses have interesting video and sound effects. If -that- is
what you want to -see-, then you can get a set of programs that
demonstrate the effects of different viruses. It is available for
anonymous ftp from our site:

ftp.informatik.uni-hamburg.de:/pub/virus/progs/virsim1.zip

Or do you mean that you want to observe the process of the virus
infecting files and disks? Again, no need to use a real virus, there
is an excellent program that demonstrates how a virus infection
spreads in a simulated computer environment. In fact, you will "see"
much more than with a real infection, because the program has very
good logging facilities. It is also available for anonymous ftp:

ftp.informatik.uni-hamburg.de:/pub/virus/progs/virlab15.zip

I have yet to be convinced that there are cases when real viral code
has to be provided to non-experienced users...

Regards,
Vesselin
