College Help Needed

Hello, my name is Barry Herman and I am currently a high school
junior (11th grade). As you can see I will soon be graduating
high school and going to college, majoring in Computer Science.
But where? I was hoping that the readers of this newsgroup could
help me to select (or at least give me ideas about) a college.
My main problem is that I have no money, so cost and financial
aid are definatly important. My (brief) resume:

Unweighted GPA: 3.3 of 4.0

Weighted GPA: 5.4 (I'm in mostly Honors and Advanced Placement
courses)

PSAT Scores: 800 - Verbal 700 - Math

Specialties: Programming, Security, Encryption

My career goal is to become a Systems Security Analyst / Computer
Security Expert.

Any information and ideas (colleges, scholorships, internships,
co-ops) would be appreciated. The only requirement is that it be
located in the Eastern half of the U.S. (but this is negotiable).

   Thank you,
      Barry Herman

If possible please reply via e-mail since my newsreader has a
tendancy to lose messages.

How the world changes... just a few years ago, this would be unheard of
(or this person would be thought of as being very odd)... to think that
computer security has turned (very much so, in some cases) lucrative!
What a concept.

(No advice, sorry, but I wish you the best of luck.)

My father was doing that back in the big mainframe days. It's not new
(although most of the issues are.)

Indeed Dan, in the past such a request would be frowned upon by the
established experts as 'probably some wannabee hacker fishing for holes'.

Back then there was no way to become a security expert unless you were
already enjoying a nice university or big company sysadmin/research job,
with time to burn and all the networking/machines/facilities you wanted
to work on one's private projects during working hours. Back then a
qualification of 'security expert' wasn't something you chose, it was
something forced onto you because some hacker chose your site as a target,
and because of that had to learn fast to survive, or get wiped out.
