Can somebody point me to a simple routine that does one-way password
encryption for a field that is no-longer than 8 char. long, and need to
be stored in a database as a string?

Please email directly to skrishna@cisco.com, since I do not subscribe to
these groups.

Thanks.

I don't know if you'd consider it simple enough, but a high-speed
version of the unix password encryptor is at
ftp://unix.hensa.ac.uk/pub/uunet/usenet/comp.sources.misc/volume28/ufc-crypt/*
and other equivilent locations.
