Im a Unix Technical support 'bod' at the head office of a large chain if DIY stores, who a year ago or so took over 'Texas' (the chain not state!). We have recently aquired from the old stores several RS/6000's running AIX v3.2. We have the Boxes themselves and the keys but nothing else. Because they have been knocking about for so long it is impossible to find someone that knows any logons let alone root's. I understood that I could insert a bootable disk, smitch the key to service mode and boot, then change roots passwd but I have no bootable media. They are connected to my mini LAN and when they boot it says TCP daemon and NFS are running. Is there a way I could use this to get in!! I dont know the IP address. In fact I dont know a lot about them at all. Is it possible to login as 'daemon' or some other 'power word'. I need help because I have several redundant but perfectly useable boxes. Thanks, Rob
