We're looking for a hill-climbing routine to carry out the
optimisation of allocation of "things" given a cost parameter.
Does anyone know about/have anything out there?

Has anybody out there ever used this math routine package from
the AT&T Toolchest? If so, please share your experiences (bad
or good . . .) -- I'll try to post a compilation at a later
point in time.

Subject: Tree Growth modelling query
I am interested in finding pointers to work in tree-growth
modelling, primarily for a possible student project to
produce a graphical Bonsai training aid. Any work that
would allow me to characterise how pruning affects growth
in a more or less heuristic way would be a start !
