Hi Jeff,

The display routines only display (pseudo-colored) images with a colorspace 
model of genericRGB, ntscRGB, or "NONE".  If the image's color space model is 
anything else, you will see each band displayed independently, as you 
described above.  Therefore you need to convert the data before displaying.  
There are a couple conversion routines that convert from the perceptual 
color spaces hls, hsv, to RGB (vcrgbhsv, vcrgbhls).  (They are under 
CONVERSIONS/Color Transform in cantata.)

Inside editimage, you can manipulate the data using other color space 
models, but the initial image still needs to be RGB.
