How can I get rid of that pesky window Matlab opens for a few seconds during startup? It drives me nuts! There doesn't seem to be a documented way. (Mathworks, why oh why...) I am using Matlab 4.0 (Aug 28 1992) with X on the Sparc. -- Bengt Mรฅrtensson +49 421 218-2952 (office) Institute for Dynamical Systems +49 421 17 17 13 (home) University of Bremen +49 421 218-4235 (fax) P.O. It is put up at the beginning of MATLAB's initialization and taken down at the end. It's actually used by the GUI widget set to figure out the size of the borders on the window manager that you are using so that the window can be positioned accurately. X allows you to use a window manager of your choice and we do not know this ahead of time.
